Maritime Weddings is a wedding and lifestyle blog dedicated to featuring the beautiful moments and clever details of real weddings, inspiring the creativity of newly engaged couples, reflecting diversity in every arena, and promoting the world-class work of wedding professionals in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

The core beliefs that drive Maritime Weddings are:

  • The Maritimes are a fantastic place to get married.
  • Budgets and decorations do not make weddings. People make weddings.

Maritime Weddings (formerly the Maritime Wedding Directory) was started by Amy Brandon in 2011 and relaunched by Kandise Brown in 2013.

Kandise Brown is a wedding and portrait photographer who lives in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and has had the pleasure of photographing weddings in every Maritime province. After tiring of national blogs that describe every Maritime wedding as “quaint” or “rustic,” she decided to create a blog that would celebrate the unique cultural and traditional (and UNtraditional!) elements of weddings on the East Coast… and recognize that we are so much more than quaint.
